Hi, my recently aquired 1966 Vitesse 6 has a weak synchro on 2nd gear, changing up and down. double declutching solves the problem! I have never stripped or repaired a gearbox is it possibly a DIY job? Also there is quite a whine on 2nd and 3rd, but 4th is fine. The gearbox was rebuilt 6 years ago and has done less than2000 miles since. any advice, is swapping for a later box an option or rebuild existing or just perfect my double declutching? PS it is non overdrive. Bob

Hi, not sure if thi is the right place for this topic. having just joined TSSC I was looking through the club spares magazine and saw a replacement dizzy for Delco type as fitted to my Vitess 6. Advertised at £290, has anyone bought and fitted one? i had a 123 system fitted to my 12/50 which was brilliant and transformed the car. I would like to fit an electronic system to my newly aquired Vitesse 6, but I don't think 123 do an appropriate option, any suggestions? Regards Bob

Hi, just for clarification the trim code is 16, which is midnight blue. as the paint is wedge wood I guess grey is a good option, I was thinking of getting a blue carpet, but run the risk of 3 different blues which might not be so good! my car is completely standard with no mods anywhere which is why I thought it is worth the effort to get a carpet as near to the original as possible. i live in Suffolk so may take a drive to Newton’s to check the product and colour match. I have paint code 26 and trim 16, I was just wondering if trim colour included carpet, but if it only came in grey or black then obviously not. thanks for the replies.

Hi, I am a new member and have just bought a vitesse 6. It is wedgewood blue with midnight blue interior which is all original. The carpet has been changed from the original, is it possible to find out what the correct colour should be? Also has anyone experience of fitting the moulded carpets from Newton Commercial? I am sure this will be the first of many questions. Regards Bob
