  6. Does anyone know if Triumph ever made a workshop manual exclusively for the GT6 MKIII . I have a genuine Gt6 and Vitesse workshop manual which is mainly for GT6 Mk I and Mk II . I also have a Genuine spitfire 1500 workshop manual Part number RTC 9230/B and I tend to use the two together but don't know if I am looking for a manual which Triumph never produced? Regards Keith
  7. Past parts in bury st Edmonds rebuilt my original GT6 Girling bake servo in 2008 . I have just found the receipt £207. 68 not cheap but nice to keep originality, only point to note is originally the two parts of the main case was swaged over when rebuilt they come back with a clap holding it together a bit like a jubilees clip as that was the part of the genuine Girling rebuild kit. You could look on eBay and may find a new old stock Girling servo rebuild kit Regards keith
  8. I Have a late swing spring MK3 GT6 and it has 175/70 13 Uniroyals and no problem with rubbing but I did fit genuine minilite wheels with the correct off set ,supplied by the Club shop cant remember if they are 5.5 or 6 j Regards keith
  9. I Had a spitfire 1500 for 25 years before the GT6 and never had a problem caused with having the spoiler Regards Keith
  10. I bought the silicon hose kit for my GT6 from the club shop a few years ago . whilst not cheap, it is a worth while investment if you intend to keep the car Regards Keith
  11. Hi Folks its been awhile but finally got around to doing the jobs . Fitted unroyal rain expert tyres as recommended ,also this winter rebuilt the entire front suspension new trunnions and vertical links had them on the shelf in spares draw so why not, put in new wheel bearings ,fitted better refurbished wishbones with new poly bushes, found the drop links to the anti roll bar were badly perished so fitted the uprated ones from Rimmer also fitted greasable trackrod ends( yes i did pre grease them thanks for the tip) and checked the tracking on the front and also fitted the front spoiler. Took it for a short run and the front feels much better more planted and spot on will get a 4 wheel alignment done by the professionals next as i think the rear wheel alignment is slightly out. keith
  12. I should have said T cut on over riders and auto glyn bumper and trim jell, on spoiler Keith
  13. I found in the past a polish with T cut worked wonders Regards keith

  15. When rebuilding my GT6. I used wellingore garage just south of Lincoln . Very happy with results not sure on cost now as my car was painted 14 years ago but not a spot of rust after all that time .Regards keith
  16. Removed valance and infills and fitted later original spoiler off a spitfire will see if it make a difference to the handling
  17. Hi Colin Yes haven't used it much recently Keep doing slight improvements and tweaking the finish, maybe get to use it more next year . I have just removed the gas struts on the bonnet and gone back to the original factory bonnet prop as Was not happy with the they made the inner wheel arches distort Keith
  18. My chassis number is KE 22675-O obviously O for over drive and is well after the stated date for spoiler fitted but obviously came from the factory with the valance rather than the spoiler. I have found photos of a new 1500 spitfire chassis on ebay which shows the spoiler mounting holes so that help will drill the chassis to suit if I want i can always refit the valance letter if i want Lots of interesting comments thanks Regards Keith
  19. Thanks Doug Mine is the same as yours non- Rotoflex Sundym etc, sounds like the spoiler was fitted only to the last few at the very end of production if at all . make's you wonder if john Thomson got it wrong in his book Regards Keith
  20. Thanks Colin I think that one is the same as my GT6 one drilled for the front valance not spoiler . I think the spoiler would have gone into elongated holes for height adjustment but not 100% sure just trying to get it as near to factory as possible Regards Keith
