  1. I think I've sorted it. There Was a red/blue wire connected to a red wire. I disconnected them in a process of elimination and the fuse hasn't blown and everything seems to work. Just got to try and work out where these wires should go now.
  2. Just been thinking what I did.Could it be something to do with the seatbelt warning system. Cuz I took seats out
  3. It's when I turn the ignition on.
  4. I've disconnecting the reverse light wires inside the engine bay. It is still blowing the fuse. I am assuming now that I disturbed something when I was doing the centre console brkt bolts behind the dash. There is a double earth wire(black), which isn't connected, that goes into the wiring loom. I can't see anywhere for it to connect to though!
  5. It's on a 1500 spitfire. No overdrive
  6. Hi, I've just replaced my gearbox. All's working well except I keep blowing a 35A fuse. Heater, wipers seatbelt light are on this fuse. I was behind centre dash to tighten bolts. Any help would be appreciated

  11. Hi, I have a 1975 1500 Spitfire which I have used as a donor car. I have stripped the bonnet, boot lid, doors, engine and gearbox. My question is, is it worth trying to sell the rest of the car or should I just weigh it in. I have no experience of this sort of thing so any advice would be appreciated.
  12. Thanks for your feedback. I'll have another go at it tomorrow.Just not what I was expecting behind dashboard. Looks more like a rats nest.
  13. Ive bought a modern stereo for my spitfire. Been attempting to fit it but having looked at the wiring behind the dashboard now realize it is more complicated than I thought. I have 2 live purple wires that come together with a spade connection. I thought there would be a live wire, a switched live, an earth and the speaker wires. Any assistance would be appreciated.
  14. thanks. I'll get it blasted then.
  15. I have a 1978 1500 Spitfire with a fibreglass bonnet. Also I have a 1975 1500 which I intended to renovate, but on closer inspection was beyond me. Anyway, my question is will the steel bonnet off of the earlier car fit my newer one? I know that there are quite a few other differences between them. Any advice would be appreciated.
