steveo
Rebuilt the front end of the Herald a few months ago, uj from eBay, solid rack mounts, GT6 anti roll bar ( I think ! ) took the rack to bits & cleaned / greased everything, few new wishbone bushes, new track rod ends / gators. Done the tracking with bits of wood & by eye, then borrowed laser tracking gauges a few days later, it was miles out ! Had to adjust the uj as the indicator cancel thing was in the wrong place, now drives like a dream & handles like a racing car, very impressed with it for a old car, loads of fun on twisty Cornish lanes ! Casper
If re-rubbering an original, note that this UJ is required to earth the horn. The securing wire normally provides this function. C

C Wouldn't be the first Triumph that I've seen with a long bare wire running down the column from top to bottom, just twisted round to create an earth. Neil Clark
Metal to metal now! And the column safety clamp responded to an overnight bath in WD40. Celebrated by fitting the seat belt shoulder strap securing plates but too hot to work outside now!
