1969Mk3Spitfire
I had reason to clean and blow-out the fuel supply system about 4 to 6 weeks ago. I know from experience of annual service that the fuel pump top seal can be a bit of a pig to seal. At a recent car show I bought a couple of new seals “for the next time I needed them”. This was from a seemingly experienced, old school seller. Hence after cleaning the system I thought it a good idea to use a new seal. As I entered my garage this morning I was greeted by the dreaded smell of leaking petrol. A bit of investigation found this. Fortunately, I kept the one previously fitted. Anyone know a source for decent quality fuel pump seals?
johny
Why not get a sheet of oil resistant rubber sheet off ebay and cut your own. Ive done that for a few rubber seals on my Vitesse (wheel arch to bulkhead, fuel cap) as it seems to the only way to get better quality....
