Triumphs Canley Factory History

I Worked for Tarmac in the 90's as part of their environmental technical services section and worked on cleaning up the site in '96. I think it is safe to say that the attached is the last part, albeit unfinished, to come out of the factory as it was dug up along with some old bottles close to the old level crossing.

If only I'd known then to take more pictures, although it was already half demolished and mainly stripped out.

I can remember in the summer of 1979 going past the Canley site on a train and seeing lots of new Spitfires & Dolomites parked up.

I did visit again in the late 90's to look at the Standard Triumph Monument adjacent to the Standard Triumph Working Men's club too.

I wonder if the last Herald 13/60 Convertible survived🤔
