Dalek
Are the bushes in the starter motor the same for both Mk1 and Mk2 Vitesse?
Colin Lindsay
The motor should be the same, Lucas M35J? (I think the M35G was much earlier, if there's a visible band round it with a screw clamp it's the early version. ) As long as you buy the brushes for the actual starter unit it'll be fine regardless of the model.
johny
We are talking brushes not bushes arent we? The workshop manual shows the type with the band round it (35G?) but my my late mk1 Vitesse had the later design without band (35J?) and the brushes are completely different. In the earlier model the brushes run radially where as mine are triangular and push axially on the end of the rotor. Heres the two types as listed by Paddock for the Vitesse and note in both cases one pair have to be soldered in....
SpitfireGeorge
Hi, I bought some bushes for my starter motor but they looked very difficult to fit. Are they as difficult as they look? Cheers, Brett
