Richard Lambert
Hi I am currently rebuilding a MKIV engine and gear box for money penny (mk3 Spitfire), I have taken out a Dolly Engine and 1500 single rail gear box so the prop shaft will now be to short what prop should I put on the shopping list mk3 or IV Thanks again
Colin Lindsay
The diff will still be in the same place, so go for the one that suits the gearbox ie Mk IV.
Clive
If it still the 4.11 diff with the "square" input flange and 5/16 bolts (1/2" spanner)?? That is the "small" type. The Gearbox will have the "large" type as indeed the single rail box has. Length wise mkIV or MK3 will be the same if both OD or both non-od. But you need a big flange at one end and small the other....(probably!) A mkIV OD box is teh same length as single rail non-OD box.....
