Bob Owen
Just discovered that my exhaust is only mounted via the manifold and the silencer box. Looking at either the Moss or Rimmer catalogues it would appear that the intermediate pipe should be secured in two places using brackets GEX 7511 AND GEX7496 (plus appropriate fittings). For the love of me I just cannot work out where these brackets should be located gearbox, diff? Would appreciate any help/advice on where they should be secured (any pics/diagrams would be fantastic) many thanks bob ps second post on this topic, first just disappeared into the ether!! Clive
There should definitely be a strap of some description hanging off the diff front plate. I believe a mounting onto the gearbox was also used originally, but I have never used one. The diff strap, always!
ian.osprey
Agree with Clive. One located from gearbox bolt to exhaust, one from the diff front plate, which, handily, has a hole both sides so you can mount a twin exit system.
Bob Owen
many thanks Ian and Clive, I'll try and find relevant "holes" on the gearbox and diff to take the brackets.
