Steve Polden
Has anyone fitted 5.5J wheels with 165x70xR13 tyres to a Mk2 Vitesse. Was there any issues with clearance. Mine is on standard suspension set up Thanks
Pete Lewis
Many would opt for 175/70 on 5.5"rim 165 might be a little narrow , ive not had that mix so providing the wheel is not wider than the tread 10mm yoou dont want a side wall \__/
Clive
Are these std triumph wheels? As the offset is what caused more issues than tyre width. I ran 175/70/13 on my MK1 vitesse, same rear track. And mine was lowered. No arch clearance issues. On hubcap 5.5j wheels. 165/70 will be ok. Downside is the Speedo will over read as the gearing is reduced. (175/70 same tyre diameter as original so keeps gearing the same)
Guest
Hello Steve, Yes, I run my Mk2 Vitesse with 165/70/13 Dunlop Street Response 2 tyres on 5.5J Dunlop D1 rims. The tyre set is spot-on and I've had no issues. Regards. Richard.
