ralph.jacobson_1937
Having trouble fitting poly bushes to steering rack to achieve correct spacing of 3.2mm between the u-bolt and flanges. The bushes seem very hard to compress. Any advice on technique would be much appreciated.

Badwolf
'Polybush' (trademark) recommend Fairy liquid as it is water soluble. Do not use any sort of grease as it forms a grinding paste with the dirt and knackers the bushes. I have mentioned this elsewhere, that after collecting some Polybushes from R*mmers at the NEC in the spring, I was talking to a rep on the P/b stand. I mentioned that R*mmers had tried to sell me grease when I ordered the bushes. The young lady promply marched over to their stand to sort them out. I left... quickly. ralph.jacobson_1937
They are "Superpro" bought from the club shop. They are now installed after putting them the right way round, cleaning thoroughly the u-bolts and using a little of the grease provided with the bushes. I didn't notice the small "step" at the base of the bushes and initially put them in with step facing the wrong way!
