NPT Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 I’m trying to find a replacement PDWV (pressure differential warning valve) for the dual brake line system on my Spitfire 1500 (1980). See rusty part next to the battery compartment on the attached photo. The original unit has seized. Can anyone help, or offer any solution?
Colin Lindsay Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 Would you feel confident about stripping one down, and refurbishing it? They're expensive to buy if you replace it, but a kit is only £5 or so. Search online for Triumph spitfire PDWA and have a look at both the videos and the other forum posts on the subject. It may not require that much work to have it going again. https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/1124707090
Pete Lewis Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 yes its a very simple bit of kit , strip it clean it and re 0 ring it always are priced well above its real value , you may not need a seal kit look see first beware there are two generations of this and the seals are both very different diameters do shop around it was used on many makes , the stag version has smaller seals cheaper but got the tee shirt for that generally the seals are fine its just given up as it never moves in use until theres a failure just position the plunger so the switch locates in its central groove and bleed both lines together or the plunger will operate as it should Pete
