As my car has just landed at Southampton docks after a lengthy negotiation, South African export issues and a ‘cruise’ that took in most of the coast of West Africa, followed by stop offs at Tilbury, Bremerhaven, Copenhagen, Immingham and Antwerp, I though I would say hello to fellow members before she finally arrives on Tuesday.

Back in the day (mid 80’s ) my first Triumph was a Dolomite 1850, which I thought was so much better than my mates Escorts and Cortina’s. A break of around 20 years and I bought a MK2 Vitesse convertible, which I renovated and then sold to an American who imported it to Chicago via Liverpool and Baltimore, a brief spell of Stag ownership and now I’m the proud owners of 1966 Mkll Spitfire.

Once I’ve gone through the NOVA process, register, MOT and fettle, I’m looking forward to driving it and hopefully meeting up with a few other members in and around Leicestershire.

All the best

Chris

I'll second the comments above. What about a bit more detail as to why the import? Photos when you 'unwrap' it will be appreciated by all of us.

Hi Chris

Whilst the cost of shipping is a little on the high side, I decided to import this one because the purchase price was very good (in the end) it’s a one family car from new and has no rot/rust. I’ll be posting some photos probably over the weekend.

Regards

Chris
