  1. The extra cost gives you that `feeling`..................😀
  2. Been running my Stag and BGT6 on E10 most of the time, have tried e5 and noticed no difference. Several chaps on the Stag owner forum from the USA, where they have been running E10 for well over a decade can't understand what we are making all the fuss about.....tend to agree with them. Mac.
  3. Oh no not another one. I`ve been parking my cars in the same garage with a bare concreate floor for over 35 years, some times for 4/5 months without moving. Have never seen any evidence of any detriment to tyres or concreate. Too much `loud` pedal......

Indeed not Colin, it was said sarcastically, I`m with you 100%. Seriously considering dumping my 18 month old modern, so fed up with false alarms and all the electronic crap that I have no use for. If i could find a really nice Dolomite that would be my ideal.

    It's called progress.🤔
  6. Yes follow the video....or a simpler method not quite as accurate but fine for road use is the 7 rule. I.E. number one cylinder valves rocking set number 6 cyclinder valves.
  7. Something very wrong there......?why not use the 13 rule, couldn't be simpler.
  8. Interesting reading. So Colin is an `old wife` after all, as well as an Irish joker.😄 We love you really Colin.
  9. Keep any spare batteries up off the cold concrete floor, that will kill them extra quickly. What`s the science behind that Colin?.......or is it `an old wives tale`.
  10. Bet he wishes he could turn the clock back and do what you suggest and used some sealer...........ignorance is bliss.
  11. You might have something there Pete, seem to remember something did change. Whether it was the trim or rubber can't remember, but am fairly sure an insert was never used. Sorry can't be more helpful. Mac
  12. Have only fitted 3 Stag screens, and it was easier than expected ........must have been lucky.
  13. Pete Are you trying to fit the S/Steel trim after you have fitted the screen to the car. It is essent ial to fit rubber to screen, then S/S trim, then fit the assembly to the car. Mac
  14. (shouldn't they fit the proper spring and sell the pump as correct?) In an ideal world they would, but sadly most C/C spares suppliers just want to sell us `stuff`, with little regard to quality. The original pumps were made by Holbourne Eaton and were fit for purpose, but I think any NOS were used up a long time ago. The only available new ones now are made by County to a suitable quality apart from the spring, and they seem to take no notice of people informing them that the pump is delivering too high a pressure, that`s where Robsport stepped in.
  15. This is why we love old cars..........there`s always something to fix. Robsport had the correct new springs re-manufactured about 3 years ago, they are a reliable suppliers of good parts for a Stag.
  16. Colin that pump shaft has a serious problem. Robsport are correct, a Stag should never have more than 50 psi oil pressure. Mac
  17. So if you are looking for a stud 1.31 = 1-5/16" you will need to go to 1-3/8". With studs, setscrews and bolts, all ways go a bit longer, you can make them shorter, but you are ****ed if they need to be longer.
  18. Why not clean it all up, and "JB weld" or similar it in position, and make it part of the manifold so to speak. Its not something you need to remove to service?
  19. Remember watching Andy Rouse racing the Sprint, main opposition was usually 3 litre Capris, and he was most often top dog.
  20. Thanks for that Gary, bit marmite and not to my taste, shades of Volvo and Rolls which is the customer they were aiming for? The original is usually the best. Mac
  21. Thanks for those Colin, learnt to drive on one of those Fordson's as in your pic in 19** I was about 10 years old, would be illegal today.l Yes Rio Panther. Mac.
  22. Was the tractor a Massey Fergy 65 not seen one for years. The black car UBJ 599R something built on a Dolomite?
  23. You live and learn Colin, I'm admitting nothing.😉
  24. If you have heard that someone has burnt the surface of GRP, they may well have been using an angle grinder with a mop attached, and that could burn the surface because they can spin at 10000 rpm. Seriously you would have to try hard to damage grp with the proper machine. Haven't seen one that is duel purpose, even better. Have a go it really isn't difficult, but you will develope your arm muscles. Mac.
