You need to speak to them telling them the type of headlights you have fitted and what you want. However I would guess JPV575 is all the lights in the Vitesse bonnet and quite a nice modification as it reduces the number of connectors exposed to the elements there.

Of course even better is the use of relays as used in the lighting upgrade kit offered by Rimmers...

    Thank you

    Hi Paul

I was the guy sitting with Colin last night, nice to meet you

I know what you mean about Stafford, I was leaving it till nearer the date to get my tickets for fear of some family event or Covid meaning I couldn't get.

I've had some great times there during the 90's and noughties when it was the favoured site for the TSSC International, maybe next year it will happen again I hope so?

Not with my wiring diagrams, and no wish to get this wrong....

However, the 2 large terminals on an ACR alternator are joined, and are the charge outputs. The brown/yellow is the main charge wire, so that fits on the big terminal.

I think the brown/green is the old field wire, so connects to the small alternator terminal. But check

White?? that is an ignition switched live if original. No idea where that has come from.

Finally, as your new alternator probably kicks ouy more than the dynamo, it is a good ide to get a length of 30A wire (similar to the thick wire you already have) and fit to the 2nd large terminal, and attach direct to the battery positive or the solenoid terminal that the battery supplies. This will stop te original wire ever getting overloaded, and improves charging.

Again, thank you very  much. I believe the white wire goes to the coil positive side.

really simple. On the control box:

    1. Ditch the earth

    2. Connect F and WL

    3. Connect the rest of the cables together. This is a chance to add fuses if you so wish.

Thank you very much. That is really helpful.

Now, at the Alternator are three terminals together two wide one's and a normal small one.

All male spade connectors. On the loom are three cables, Brown with yellow tracer , large female spade connector.Brown with green tracer,  small female spade connector and white with small female spade connector. Do you have instructions for this end as well please?

If it's the same as a Herald it goes up inside the B-post on the passenger side; there's a hole beside the floorpan. It then follows the line of the rear wing over the top of the wheelarch, you'll see the tags for securing it, and along the inside face of the wing to the boot where it forks across under the rear deck. One part goes to rear lights and fuel tank, the other side to boot light and rear light driver's side.

Right thanks, yes I have got the route correct except for the hole beside the floorpan . This may have been welded over.

  6. What route is the wiring loom to the rear of the car supposed to take to get into the boot on a Vitesse mk1? I've ran it down the NS inner sill and into the rear wing behind the rear seat panel card. I was expecting a grommet hole to thread it through.
