  1. I'm currently in the process of cleaning my Vitesse fuel tank out with white vinegar, (a tip given to me by a local classic bike restorer).  So, I left the tank in the shed standing on a bund overnight in the upright position (as in it's fitted position), with 4.5 litres of white vinegar in it. This morning I observed the effect, it has removed all the fuel residue that was submerged below the fluid level and eaten into some rust patches. I have now put the tank on  one side to process that are next. I will need to get some more white vinegar to submerge the centre baffle . But B&M are out of stock just now and my ebay order has gone missing.

Nice car, appears unmolested and original. One downside is no OD which would have been the icing on the cake. But if I was after a good dolly 1850, I would look at that one.

Yes, thanks for that. It looks genuine but someone said boring. I guess he's just not a Triumph man. Dolly prices are going up I think.

Just back from five days in York and really noticed the prices on everything; paid £149.99 per litre for diesel on the way home. The place I used to stay is now £220 per night - no chance, not worth it at all, but by shopping around I was able to find other hotels at £41 per night - quite a difference! (Over here they want a payment for 'staycations' so that locals will go away for a night or two and help the hotel industry - if only they'd kept the prices down we might be more tempted but they've increased the rates dramatically, you'd think they want to recoup their Covid losses in record time, so fewer people are going away.)

I'm planning for the TSSC Show in Stafford next August; ferry will be over £400, add accommodation, food and fuel and it's over £700 so the only way to make it worthwhile is to lengthen the stay, maybe to about eight days, so while we pay more in hotels and food it actually works out better value for money due to the longer holiday. The days of a three-day break for Stoneleigh or even two days for the NEC are long gone.

I know what you mean, just driven down to Cornwall. Paid £139.9 at Costco for diesel and £152.2 at Shell on the A30 at Sommercourt.
