  1. Thanks, do rear passengers get strangled when entering the back seat?
  2. My Herald has not reinforcement at the seat belt bolt points. I am guessing the belts were added sometime after they became available, and the bolts at the shoulder just thread into the B pillar top, and the rear belt shoulder point is just bolted through the parcel shelf with a nut. The bolts in the floor also had nothing. My question is, how do I get reinforcement in behind the upper section B pillars for the front seat belt system.
  3. My herald has a small amount of rust in the lower corner of the artea behind the tail lamp lens. I have poked around and opened a small hole through the first layer of the body and found what looks like sand or soil, and then perhaps another layer of steel. There is no hole through to the boot area. How do I get in and cut the rust out and repair the area which is about 3/4 " square only. Is there a double panel in that area?
  4. The way to weld petrol tanks is to fill them with water and then weld by twisting the tank to give you access. I was racing a new sidecar at Bathurst one year and to save weight I had the frame working as a fuel tank. It worked a treat until we got a crack in the frames at a bronze pint. Somehow I managed to convince the track welder to help me out, but I fitted tanks after that.
  5. A lightweight 40 amp Denso alternator is priced at $A420 here, I will look for something else to fit
  6. What are the seats in the last image from please?
  7. Is it possible to get blank door 'cards' to refit my lining panel to? here are more images. floor tunnel has been cut card from rear seat and a retro gauge, heater control and ash tray that may be a later addition. I may roll another upper tunnel part and weld it in place. rust in floor is limited to about 3 sq ft
  8. Is it possible to get blank door 'cards' to refit my lining panel to?
  9. Had not thought about it much, whicH model DENSO
  10. Ok gentle4men, now you have all listed what went wrong and how you solved it, what should a newcomer in Australia purchase to change from the dynamo to an alternator. \ I see you have used all sorts of alternators as well/ Is there a cleqr path for me please?
  11. Currently I have no tunnel. In Australia we have a product called 'dektite', its a gaiter for pipes through a roof, they may be perfect as the gaiter.
  12. I race sidecars, which have everything exposed. I am thinking about having the aluminum parts water blasted and left exposed where practical in my Herald. For instance the gear extension could be upolstered so it stands free and engine noise etc is excluded, Has it been down before?
  13. The background is vegetation on my small farm.
