jdaley
My herald has a small amount of rust in the lower corner of the artea behind the tail lamp lens. I have poked around and opened a small hole through the first layer of the body and found what looks like sand or soil, and then perhaps another layer of steel. There is no hole through to the boot area. How do I get in and cut the rust out and repair the area which is about 3/4 " square only. Is there a double panel in that area? Colin Lindsay
If this is the upright rear corner, there's a single layer of metal (some slight overlapping of sections where the panels have been welded) but there's also a curved stiffener panel in the boot in front of it which the overrider bolt goes through; you can repair from the outside but can't get at it from the inside. You can buy a repair section for this area "boot floor lower corner".
