Mike Crewes
Guys When I tow my caravan with my Stag, I find that the caravan indicators are very dim. Having had similar problems years ago with a Spitfire I know it's the indicator flasher unit that is not powerful enough; so does anyone know which one I need to get to overcome this problem, please? Many thanks Mike
thescrapman
Mike It might be worth trying one of the devices designed to be used with CANBUS type wiring in modern cars. They sense a voltage but do not load a circuit and then trigger outputs fed from a 12v supply. I am not recommending this specific one, but it should give you an idea. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANBUS-7-WAY-SMART-MULTIPLEX-RELAY-BYPASS-RELAY-BMW-TOWBAR-BYPASS-RELAY-/371181287111?hash=item566c20f6c7:g:72cAAOSwLa9UWQfR Some of them also have a sqwarker in them to provide the additional tell-tale needed. Clive
The electronic type should work OK. That is what I have used. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-90-110-130-INDICATOR-FLASHER-RELAY-3-PIN-YWT10003-/271105670971?hash=item3f1f283f3b:m:mcWLbKGsl-3kpSfRPdHy9yg
Pete Lewis
Think you need the 4 pin version for the trailer version with additional warning lamp pete
Clive
My toledo does not appear to have a warning lamp! But on previous towbar fittings to our "moderns", there was a indicator relay in the boot for the trailer. Guess it depends on what is fitted, but sounds a basic setup!
