SPITFIRE GEARBOX

replacement box for my herald fitted with the 1500 engine and 1500 box 3 rail all synchro , came today can someone confirm the new box is a spitfire all synchro number FH37933 seems a good box visual inspection paul

Yes should be MkIV Spitfire. Are you going to do anything on it or just stick it in?

By the number yes that should be an identical gear set to what you already have (Spit IV as Johny says)

going to just put it in not a massive job see what i have, if issues will  just fit my good herald box and done with it paul

Sorry to hijack the thread! My gearbox is the original so I'd rather keep it than exchange - is rebuilding a fairly straight forward, if time consuming job? I have seen some excellent videos online.

I think you're better making your own thread and listing what gearbox you have and what issues you're having. If you're up for the challenge, it's definitely doable and relatively simple once you get your head round it.

looking at the prop got one of those weird  straps on the back types . to be fair car drives spot on no clonks vibration, have a normal straight prop should i swop it while doing the gearbox change or just leave it advice please paul and why did triumph use that style prop curious

will do clive drives well must say lot better than my vitesses no clunks or vibration
