ANY 1 4 T
Hi In rebuilding my spitfire 1500 1979 clutch and related to the clutch operating lever I've replaced the fulcrum pivot pin, tolerance ring and both pivot bushes into the bell housing. The new pin has a fixed washer at one end to stop it falling out. However, the pin is slightly thicker (than the original which is worn) and on inserting it the thinker pin pushed out and down the new tolerance ring. It is a very snug fit and the lever itself works. I'm not sure if I should worry that there is now no tolerance ring?? Advice and thoughts very welcome. Thanks Mike
Clive
I would prefer to have the tolerane ring fitted. It should be a good tight fit as originally they were the only things holding the pin in place. Saying that, I have had cars with all sorts of bolts used to replace the pin, never surrefed any issues.
DanMi
I found when I did mine that many repros were slightly thicker and were very hard to get through the tolerance ring and when they did the arm didn't have enough play to move freely. After trying a few I found one that worked perfectly this one I think https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203933684926?fits=Car+Make%3ATriumph|Model%3ASpitfire&hash=item2f7b6514be:g:3JsAAOSwikBcWbJT&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsO9FCS%2BNazh0Ctz6oll3QNPUPiPQzchijmNy57W00XxbIwQ%2BvQ9HxMBgKBouWcDiPSrRfCjlR8qs%2F0jJS1sC7sdknQdr5wleCwqkE7UmAGQ9GaY52%2F5w%2Fx4vsRTXFAVRxWZ2LaubfhsUmnsloorB49G44G9WyVfMKsEOH9x6uVayP6pc6luyN9HAx5X4hSZ3MirxpjtiIzkQMh7feGnhmIJ20T1X6BhOEggStR8%2BZh%2Bb|tkp%3ABk9SR_7fg-yVYQ
