GT6 mk1 Windscreen Wiper Motor

I have been reading up on this subject as I want to get my original wiper motor refurbished. The Haynes manual states that the car was fitted with a single speed motor but J Thomason guide to originality states a two speed. My toggle switch is also has three positions. Can anyone confirm it is in deed two speed? Part of the reason for the refurbishment is I only get one speed wherever the switch is

Thanks

Hi All

Reviving this thread as at last I am back to a refurb

Can anyone recommend a suitable company / person to refurbish my motor unit?

The company I did look at seems not to be there any more

Thanks

remove the tin plate gear cover , remove the circlip on the gear crank spindle  you can (with wipers taken off) either now pull the rack out  or lift it away from the slide chamber ,

just put  a rimmers rack in the 2000 and the blasted hole in the rack is to small for the crank pin,  Grrr  out with the drill

and its  0.295" dia   what drill !!!!  7,5mm is a easy fit.

we should have stripped it down on your tappet visit

it probably only may need replacement brushes and a oil up    easy diy job

places like  http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/category/wiper-systems-and-parts/

and Ha  there's those switches i supplied   at  whooooh  £££s

i have all the lucas service sheets and data but not for the old  DR3A  shaped case motor like yours ( which was common in its day)

the singlespd version these had a brush set  508170 (triumph numbers)  cant see two speed version.
