dougbgt6 Posted April 9, 2023 Report Share Posted April 9, 2023 (edited) East Berks new venue, Burattas at the Royal Oak, will be closed Monday and Tuesday next week for essential maintenance.. Given a choice of Wednesday, Tuesday week or a different pub the half dozen I could contact have to my surprise unanimously opted for Tuesday week. I researched the alternate pub, The Wheelwright's Arms, yesterday and their oddly named "Christmas Pie" (Turkey and Sausage) did not score highly on the Retail Pie Index. dougbgt6 Posted April 9, 2023 Author Report Share Posted April 9, 2023 I asked the landlord was it left over from Christmas? He wasn't amused. A lot of sausage, not much turkey and gravy granules. Beer is London Pride and Rebellion's Smugglers, the food is VERY good! Replaced the coil last week for a new one, simply as the old one is a bit scruffy…lasted 30 miles! My wife rescued me and I’ve just fitted the old one at the roadside. Bingo! A disgruntled Area Organiser perhaps who's discovered we had four newbies at the last East Berks gathering, Well, three, one broke down on his way to the meeting.
