Vitesse badge paint

My Vitesse bonnet badge has half the black enamel missing so it's more of a V**esse. Can anyone recommend a paint to repair?

As youre painting on to chrome nothing is really going to stick very well unless you roughen the surface which of course you might not want to do. Humbrol enamel or similar is about the best you can do...

Thanks Johny, the Humbrol was top of my list but as you say it's all in the preparation. To start with I'll just degrease and paint and see how that fares.

That's all I did with the badges on the boot of my 13/60, good enough for me as I prefered to keep the originals rather than buy modern copies (that might look even worse)

I agree, recycling old or original parts is much more satisfying.

You might be able to carefully lightly scratch the surface but chrome is usually pretty hard. Straight enamel will last a few years before it needs redoing...
