martyn wright
Hi! In my last Topic I stated that I had a problem with the indicators/lights at the rear? I have since managed to get a Auto Electrician in and he found that there was a problem with the connectors on the rear lights (The round Bakolite discs that the wiring fits into, which fits onto the bulb springs). So I got 2 x Twin and 2 x Single replacements from Rimmers! I have now replaced them but on fitting the bulb in, the spring doesn,t spring back to connect the rear of the bulb the the connecting plate?? I have cleaned out the Holder and it seems fine!! Any comments please?
Pete Lewis
if this is the fibre disc you can trim a little off to aid clearance make sure the wire is not jamming the return try a squirt of lubricant if at first you dont succeed try a bigger hammer !!! sorry this is a bit of trial and error twiddling Pete
martyn wright
Hi Pete! Hope you are well? Yep! Tried a squirt of lub! Thought the disc might be the right size, so didnt check to see if it was catching? changed the Spring twice and the wires are taped up outside the Holders! Will just rub down the edges of the Fibre Disc? Cheeers
johny
Inside the holder itself in case any rust has built up and is catching on the disc....
martyn wright
Hi Johny! Yes I have that covered! "Smooth as a babies bum"
martyn wright
Ref the Fibre Disc that the wire connectors fit into? They are slotted so the Disc will only fit into the Holder a certain way LOL!!
Pete Lewis
doesnt matter on a single filament bulb but on a twin you need to fix the two connectors so they inhibit any rotation Pete
