Robin
I need to pull out a small dent in the rear bumper - can I remove the rear valance with the bumper attached without taking off the bumper overriders? Getting to the nuts by the fuel tank seems pretty impossible without removing the tank. Also, in order to remove the bumper from the valance it looks as though you need to cut off the rivets. How do you then re-rivet it back on? I don't have a rivet gun so what type do I need to buy? Thanks
Darren Groves
Overriders need to come off I'm afraid.
Ben Caswell
You can drill out the rivets with the rear panel in situ if all you need to do is get at is the alloy trim. A normal cheap pop rivet gum will do the job just measure the hole for size of pop rivet
Robin
Thanks Darren & Ben Think I'll try removing the rivets first and see how I get on
Darren Groves
Sorry, that's me only half reading the original post. If you want to remove the rear valance then you will need to take off the overriders, but if all you want to do is remove the chrome bumper strips then as Ben has said just drill out the rivets. Pete Lewis
You can if not on originality use dome headed stainless bolts with nuts behind the valence bit of a fiddle but possible if you dont have or want a pop rivet gun pete
