Mike T
Hi all I am refitting 150CDSE carbs onto the manifold on my GT6Mk3. The gasket and spacer have a cut out and I can't remember if the cut out should be at the top or the bottom. The carb face has holes in both positions so it isn't clear which should be covered by the gasket and which should be open. Looking on the internet I can see in both positions - any thoughts? I really should take more pictures when I take things apart! Mike
Waynebaby
Mike, Mine are fitted with the cut out at the top. To be honest though I don't think it actually matters because from my recollection the cut out doesn't actually relate to any feature on either the manifold or carbs. Pete Lewis
cdse will have the temperature compensators these need to be set nicely shut when cold and preferable never to open again, there is a bypass hole in the manifold face and the gasket need to keep this uncovered there is a corresponding port on the carb engine side face, if the comps do ever open this is the bypass route the air takes when its over heated fitting the gasket upside down does shut this orrible system off. the filter side has the rectangle hole at the top , the other small hole is the breather for the float chamber it must be kept clear right through to the filters and air box, or you pressurise the float chamber so all three have the 6mm holes in line its easy to assemble the filters in the airbox and end up with them obstructed Pete
dougbgt6
And, there's one way to get the gasket right and three ways to get it wrong! Back to front, upside down, and upside down back to front. Doug
