dougbgt6 Posted April 24, 2018 Report Share Posted April 24, 2018 In what way is it intermittent, electrically or mechanically? I cured my mechanical ignition switch problems with a squirt of WD40. Pete Lewis Posted April 25, 2018 Report Share Posted April 25, 2018 The switch mechanism is normally a seperate demountable part , held in the back of the lock assy by small srew or screws around the supporting lock body, its common these wear and the sweep contact fails to reach or make contact with the button contacts inside You can prise the switch case rim open to get at the insides A clean and reset is quite easy DIY Look aroind the lock for the small fixing screws some may have a roll pin, thats not easy Pete Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SprintAstic Posted April 28, 2018 Author Report Share Posted April 28, 2018 Yes think its something internal in the switch, probably bad contacts - get variable ohmmeter readings across the terminals when turning the key to run and start positions.
