Alex Lowe
Hi all my fuel tank seems to be missing its rear mounting i believe its known as the rod assembly/tank support but I am unable to find anywhere which sells them. Does anyone have a source or any ideas on how to mount the rear of the tank?
Pete Lewis
would a length of studding do the job, heat one end red and hammer/flatten to take the drilled holes ???? Pete
dougbgt6
Alex, Me too! How did it happen, factory oversight do you think? John Bonnett very kindly made one for me, but he hasn’t posted on here for a while. John built the famous aluminium bodied GT6, later renamed the GT4, have a search for the thread on here. dougbgt6
Alex, I never noticed it was missing till about 5 years ago and I’ve owned the car for 40 years! Never had a bouncing tank problem and I wonder if it was left off as unnecessary, another late GT6 anomaly. However, like you I decided I needed one.
