Mjit
Need to pull the o/d gearbox out of my 2000. Anyone got any clues where the balance point is to position the jack?
thescrapman
You need to get about 2ft clearance underneath to get the gearbox out, usually too high for a jack. get an assistant and the gearbox comes out fairly easily between the 2 of you. Alternatively put it onto your stomach if you are on your own.
Pete Lewis
i just popped a trolley jack under the main case , as you need to drop the thing to a serious angle to get access to the upper clutch hsg bolts /studs so it wont balance on the jack well and roll the box off to get it under the sills. do watch fan/ radiator and hose stretch , a spare pair of willing hands is a must Pete
