Triumph Herald Trim
Being a long standing herald owner and even longer standing Motor Trimmer, who worked on these cars whilst still in production, I would like to say, if any one is looking to retrim their seats, but horrified at the prices now for replacement seat cover kits from the established 'specialists' I can make these to order at a much more realistic price. As the  price of everything is rocketing at present, any help to keep costs down can only help to keep these beloved treasures going and in good condition. I can offer the 1200 12/50 seat covers front and rear for £325 + £20 p&p   and the 13/60  /  Vitesse seat covers front and rear at £350 +£20 p&P ( with the traditional pleated flutes ) Available for saloon and convertable.
I know many of you will prefer to buy from traditional sources and thats fine, but many of those 'Specialists' don't make them themselves, they send them out to 3rd party companies so adding more layers of cost. I operate on a small individual order basis, so naturally I don't expect or try to compete with the 'big guys' but if you want to save roughly half the cost just PM me or email me on itsjustrim@gmail.com for more details

Never really understood the cost of upholstery when we brought the daughters Mk2 Spit over 20 years ago it had a red powder coated chassis, Porsche royal blue paintwork and bleached white interior, whilst very patriotic it looked terrible! The daughter was working for VW in Germany at the time so I brought a few yards of Wedgewood blue vinyl & she arranged for her fiancee's father an upholster  to retrim the whole cockpit seats, door and rear trims, I delivered the car to him at 10AM with new door hardboard trim backings all drilled and removed the seats and trim left him to it I got a call at 4PM to say its ready, a really good job he did still wearing well 20 years later ever with the Aussie heat & i still have enough vinyl to do it again! So where's the cost, he even re foamed the seats.

Yes the door and rear panel coverings are not heat welded to their backings, but the trim has been stitched to look the same

A mate recently restored a 68 E Type roadster it came in bits with a new set of unfitted beige leather interior he wanted red leather he found a little Vietnamese chap in LA who supplied to the major offenders, he contacted the chap direct got it for half the price under $3k, sent in 3 lots less than $1k ea to avoid import tax, he sold the beige trim for $4.5k,the car is concour and looks great,

Material cost are affordable . I bought headlining for my sons MGB gt costing £15 per metre . Sun roof vinyl is approx £30 per metre which is more than enough for a sunroof.

Sunroof already cut out costs £150 .

Complete sunroof replacement ie vinyl roof and headlining £750 plus .

I had Herald interior parts repaired by a local upholsterer years ago, a lovely job including the dashboard surround which he recovered in a black material to look almost new. Given the replacement cost of convertible rear seat covers in light tan I'll try another local man in the near future to see what options he can offer.
