I have excessive play in one rear hub even though the hub nut is tight to the correct torque so looking for advice. What hub puller is recommended and where is best place to borrow, steal or even buy it from?
Who supplies the best quality bearings for the Rotoflex rear hub?
I have a spare set of shafts, hubs and uprights - is it easier to remove the hub and set up new bearings on the spare set then swap with the assembly on the car ?
I think that I will be bending Pete's ear at The Raven on Monday evening !

Ok seems a bit random. I often manage to log out, no idea how I did it...
You can say that again! Sometimes I log in and it gives me limited access without contact details, at other times I log in and it gives me full access including contact details.

Great news!

Are you logged in on the website homepage? I get the contact details come up.
Try clearing cookies or whatever it is. I gather that can be an issue?
I know the website can be "sensitive", but are you certain you are logged in?
Thought I had logged in but not sure now. Checked again and contact telephone numbers have now appeared.

If you are a club member (and signed in)you get the contact details. Perk of membership.....
I am a club member and signed in but all I get presented with is a form to submit a message but no contact details - all very cumbersome and long-winded imho.

If I can drag this back to the original topic regarding Sales Ads.
Once you have managed to find the online ads - why do you have to "contact the club" rather than the advertiser when responding to an ad ? How does this work ?

I hope that your shocks fit. When I fitted the brackets to my early Mk 3 my existing shocks were too long so I had to buy shorter shocks to fit.

Thanks guys for the clear and prompt response. You even beat Dave Lewis !!!!!!!!!!.
I 'll be sure to check clearance before and after changing mounts.
I have found a reference in the manual text on engine removal to "packing pieces" but they are not shown in any diagrams or spares catalogue listing. Normally these sort of things are shown as part number and quantity A/R - as required.
I presume they are suspension shims.
That is what I used - lower wishbone shims.
-
Yes, I had to add shims to my GT6 mounts as the edge of the sump was wearing away against the steering rack.

QuickNick's looked better than mine before refurbishing! 😂 Mind you, I don't really hold with cleaning stuff under the bonnet - particularly when it's working fine!

Gully, I bought the spare carbs some time ago cheaply on ebay. They were not originally from a GT6 Mk3 but they were the same basic version as mine so I had them refurbed and rebuilt with the correct needle/jet/spring spec for my engine. I have another pair of new old stock GT6 Mk3 carbs but they are to Swedish/US spec with slight variations to the UK spec.

Colin,
You forgot the 'what grease do I use in the trunnions? Noooooooooo should be the common answer!' As for thread drift..... the citizens of Portsmouth and Southsea are pretty annoyed at the constraints they are experiencing over POTUS visiting D-Day 75; HM The Queen they can accept.

You are not THE Lord Emsworth are you .... ?

Pete
Yes Pete. Dare I risk using them to replace the ones currently on the car which are performing reasonably well at the moment ?
