Yes me. I used Blackcircles last for four new tyres on the GT6. Price was more than competitive, choice of about four or five local fitters and all went quickly and well. No complaints and will use again.

'Swinging the lead' infers loafing about/shirking work, whereas 'Swinging the lamp' is story telling (true/false/somewhere in between).
Getting withdrawl symptoms here, but despite having left 'active' service 16 years ago, and duties as an Admiralty Trials Master about 9 years ago I still appear to be in demand mentoring senior warfare courses; for free but they do buy me a drink and lunch.

Sure the seafarers among us have nautical tales that few would understand/believe and in a language /dialect beloved of those of us who lived that life. 'Swinging the lamp' a pastime much enjoyed over a tot or two.

John, if I remember and have room I'll pop mine in the back of the GT6 and you can have a practice at Tetre Rouge.

Quite clearly the heat is having an effect; Blackcircles it is.

normal for a GT6. You can always tell the GT6 drivers, they're the ones in shorts.
Totally agree, 45C in mine to/from Silverstone; but do not wear shorts under any circumstances (tunnel heat!).

Alas, all gone
John, Not quite for the seafarers out there. Knots (Kns) for Nautical Miles per hour, which is different to Kts (normal, whatever that is) and of course a nautical mile is different to a statute mile the one in everyday land lubber use and the Data Mile. That of course is before you get to cables (200 yds) or shackles as a length of anchor cable (chain) which is 15 fathoms.

Sue, Bad luck, but it happens. I know the orientation is different but I had an issue with the GT6 and fuel supply that kept getting worse. Peering in to the tank I could see something that did not look right and managed to hook out a piece of plastic about an inch square that was floating about. Assume it was something stuck a fuel filling nozzle or ....

I've often thought about disconnecting mine to get the cabin heat down!
Only time I use mine in anger is to get a bit more cooling water through the system when stuck in Classic Le Mans traffic. Rest of the time SOP is both rears and driver's window open!

"Gunner's Mate"
John,
Actually a 'Master Gunner', who had a Gunner's Mate as his underling to look after the Gunner's Party. Pedantic I know but as I qualified as Master Gunner in 1974..... Even more disconcerting is that my first, short, appointment was as the Master Gunner of HMS VICTORY where one of my claims to fame was escorting HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother to the heads which were in a block ashore! There is more to that tale but the rest is reserved for a shoreside dit.

IIRC on the back of the pad and then 'cleaned' finger on the caliper side of the shim.

the mostly used for this would help more on the 6 cyl which is a contortion to bleed with the tunnel in place
I used a longish brake flexi hose witha female end to fit a bleed nipple in tagged to the baulkhead witha P clip
That's the approach I took a GT6 front brake hose. If it helps, a photo:

I used Ceratec with my 1144 pads last year and have no brake problems or squeals since then.

Second the recommendation for Mike Papworth and Coventry is not that far from you. His details are in The Courier.

"Everyone is welcome at the TSSC HQ Museum, we have ample private parking and our doors are open Mon - Thu 9.00am to 5.00pm (other times by special arrangement). We're lucky to occupy an extensive building set in lovely village surroundings just outside Market Harborough, Leicestershire."

I must be getting old/sad but got distracted from the passenger by a fuel gauge reading empty and standard of punctuation at the end.

I have been with Peter James through the TSSC and the recovery man from the AA was very professional and 'understanding' of a classic.

Vitesse fan
in Cooling System
Posted
Bernd has just hit exactly the same issue as I had on my GT6. Looked to change fans on mine from the tired 7 blade (Mk3 GT6) one on there at the moment. The 308353 arrived, with Paddocks having an inkling there had been a problem with the early cars but could not remember exactly what.
The Bahstuck 308353 8 blade fan is 20mm deeper than the original and on mine this reduced the clearance between the fan and the radiator core to 9-10mm and to the mounting frame around the core to 5-6mm. I reckoned this to be too close for comfort, Paddocks glad to have my findings detailed in a letter. The thinner (by how much?) spacer from the Mk2 Vitesse engine is probably the way to go if in doubt.
