Peter Truman
I know it's been discussed before repeatedly but I cannot find it doing a search, what is the correct thickness of the clutch throw out bearing the two spares I have for the Spitfire Mk2 with diaphragm clutch and my Mk2 Vitesse are around 16.4mm thick, can someone advise or put me on the correct forum thread as to what is the correct ones should be. Pete Lewis
proper thickness for the 6 cyl is 19mm the fix is to add a washer to raise the height of the sperical post which is a light push/pressed fit in the clutch hsg. to correct the lever angle .just pop a washer under the post Pete
DanMi
the correct bearing for the 4 cyl is SKF 415441 and has a depth of 19.6 (other makes were also available but that is the NOS one that I have) but the ones supplied by the suppliers today are 16.4 See the other thread about fitting a single rail od box into a herald 1200. I believe they still supply the correct bearing in the 3 part kit but not if purchased separately
