Exhaust Manifold nuts Spitfire 1300

So - just noticed that one of the nuts on the exhaust manifold was finger tight.

couldn’t find a torque setting in the Haynes manual for this fastener. But then again the dimensions of the casting would appear to prevent any regular socket being used. 
 

what to do?

dont need a torque just a good hand tight with an appropriate spanner 

in general 5/16unf  19/21  lbft 

3/8   unf    28/31 lbft

Find the two nuts for my exhaust manifold on my Mk1 Vitesse work loose so have fitted lock nuts.

Should have a split washer under the nut. As Pete says - not much more than hand tight and a pinch with a spanner.
