GT6 mk3-Grille Extension (D shaped pieces)-Fastening to fiberglass valances

Just looking for confirmation that these D shaped pieces are simply screwed directly to the fiberglass replacements. Can’t see the point of creating a cutout in the outer valance as the D shaped piece is solid backed and doesn’t allow any airflow. Thank you.

There should already be an insert / cutout on each front quarter valence that these fit into with a hole in the middle of the d-shaped blank that takes a through bolt for the metal versions. You should be able to simply screw it to the fibreglass version, with some kind of suitable reinforcement (big washer!) in behind the fibreglass as a belt and braces strengthener.
