Vitesse 2lt mk1 exhaust manifold

Some years ago I decided to take my vitesse off the road as a rebuild project - body and chassis needed fair bit of work, during moves between garages the exhaust manifold snapped just above the flange that connects to the downpipe.

 

I am having no luck getting a replacement tubular replacements dont look right and are very expensive.

 

 

As an alternative I thought i could somehow square off the end and manufacture some sort of clamp to connect to the downpipe, any thoughts or is this just a barking idea.

Yes thanks nothing ventured nothing gained. youtube has cast iron welding, an engineering firm might know I'll nip to rimmerbros in the week, Lincoln

Exhaust manifold is the same on a MK1 Triumph 2000, inlet is different.
