Paul H
Hi Dean - Just doing the same job and got replacement bolts and they have a "10mm painted " section at the end and need a lot of pressure to tighten up - I guess this is in lieu of loctite . I cant find the torque settings for these bolts - do you have them? . The old ones I removed still had the remains of the paint - The new bolts were purchased from Canleys Hope this helps Paul

Clive
The blue stuff appears on all sorts of bolts and is indeed a type of thread lock stuff. I would put a little on, but only a mediu, or low strength one (the high strength stuff as VERY strong and usually unnecessary)
