Considering taking the Vitesse to Ireland next year , hopefully not too ambitious . Just researching and finding car ferries a tad expensive approx £350 return for Holyhead, Dublin . Is this pricing the norm ? Any advice welcome plus places to stay , areas to visit

Regards

Peak season prices are high but offers do pop up. Also Tesco clubcards can be used.

I strongly suggest heading for the west coast. And working down from Connemara. The burren is a must along with the Cliffs of Moher. Blarney castle .. hmm. But Molls gap is great. Then to the Ring of Kerry. If time head further south to bear island. Best research - read Macarthys bar and round Ireland with a fridge.

Hello Paul

We did a trip over there last year and are off again in 3 weeks to the north this time.

This is last years blog.

We found a deal with Stena line for £378 Holyhead to Dublin and Rosslare to fishguard with 2 nights B&B in Dublin in September

This year we are going Liverpool to Dublin and back with a cabin both ways for £208

Just do it you will love it

They don't float as well, I'd stick to the ferry... :)

Prices are up and down like the fiddler's proverbial, so look around for bargains - even changing the ferry time or day of departure can make a huge difference between peak times and less popular times.

Roger - what areas of Northern Ireland are you going to?
