New MOT

Though my Vitesse is exempt an MOT I still had it tested as per normal. It passed the new type MOT with no advisories.

The garage had not problem getting it on the MOT system.

I guess all looks well if you want your MOT exempt car tested.

I plan to have my GT6 MOT'd once recommissioning jobs are completed. Can't beat an independent and documented inspection for safety and I've always thought the MOT is a great way to achieve this.

I've just had the Spit checked by a local garage. They did a 'Visual Health Check' using a preprinted check sheet, and checked the brakes on the MOT roller. All for £25.00 +VAT. They found a couple of very minor items (the usual comment about front wheel bearings, and a slight wobble in a rear wheel (wires)). The point being that if there had been something major that would have resulted in an MOT failure I wouldn't have a failure logged on the MOT system, needing a retest to clear, all I would have to do it fix it in my own time and if worried, get them to check my work.

As of this morning, I have a shiny new MOT for the GT6 - no advisories 😀 I feel it's worth it for the brake test alone.

I too had an MOT yesterday, no issues, in fact the tester told me said whoever tested it last year was a jobsworth as there were three advisories listed all of which were really not worthy of mention. Onwards and upwards.
