Gadgetman
Has anyone any words of wisdom on installing dished core plugs(Apart from hit it with a hammer) plugs as mine just blew out!
Pete Lewis
yes dont use any slippery sealer , best fitted dry, or use a hard setting sealer are the bores deep enough to use a bucket type rather than a dome/ welch plug ??? as they are ...better Pete
Colin Lindsay
I know the Herald block changed during production from dished to bucket, but you can't mix the two due to the design of the block. Maybe the Vitesse will take either?
Mjit
Was the blown plug a corroded mess? If not you might want to spare a thought for WHY it blew. Had one pop on my Spitfire head, which turned out to be down to a crack that had developed (but could thankfully be fixed). All that said core plugs aren't expensive, so probably worth starting with just replacement and giving it a good thrash (close to home) to see if it goes again or not.
