Ziggy
Can anyone tell me which anti freeze I should use on my car, I know a blue mono Ethylene glycol is good, but which make? Halfords offer many different ones and its confusing! Also what is the mixture ratio?
Colin Lindsay
Any good MEG coolant will do - Comma, Halfords, anything that's not £1 for 5 litres and so suspect. you're right to avoid any of the red or yellow stuff, it's not suitable. It's the simplest, easiest to obtain, and a lot less hassle than these waterless fluids that are great until you get a leak and have to replace it, as you can't get it at the roadside... 30% mix minimum and some say 50%. dougbgt6
The last time I asked Halfords didn’t stock it. “No call for it” “But you sell oil for classics” Gaelic shrug. db
Clive
I have been using the ECP QX blue stuff for about 5 years or so. I tend to buy it in 1L bottles for ease of use. https://www.eurocarparts.com/blue-antifreeze https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/blue-antifreeze And for either remember to use the discount codes to get the price substantially lower.
