martyn wright
Hi! Can anyone tell me the code for the Number Plate Front Brackets please? or what they look like? GT6/TR6/Spitfire are 625886! Cheers martyn
Clive
My vitesse didn't have brackets. The number plate was bolted direct to the front valance.

Colin Lindsay
All of mine have been the same; two screws or bolts through the front valence, bar one - I had an early 948 with a curved valence, it had no radiator bulge as in the photo above, and so the number plate would have been at an angle; this one had two metal brackets on the back of the numberplate which were angled at the top to allow the numberplate to sit at a more vertical angle. I managed to find a pair of similar - they look like paint scraper blades so now I'm wondering if £2 bought me a pair of those in the local Poundshop... and a little bit of bending and drilling... Colin Lindsay
Just as an update - I found these very nice stainless brackets, very cheap for a fiver... same principle: screw them to the valence to lower the number plate and keep it off the paintwork. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGB-MGC-STAINLESS-NEW-NUMBER-PLATE-MOUNTING-BRACKETS-1962-1974-AHH6217-/293691631815
