Pete Lewis
yes its possible in car once you push the shell round to free it its easy to roll it out and insert a new set give the end of the shell a prod with screwdriver or whatever we changed the whole crank in car on the Vit6 needs a rope and a sky hook still rather Heavy but its all possible Pete
DanMi
probably the hardest part will be getting the aluminium bridge piece to seal against the front plate as you have to remove it to get at the front main bearing. If the big ends were knocking then you will need to check and measure the journals which could be done in the car. Personally I would take the engine out if I could beg borrow or steal a hoist as I would hate working under the oily engine.
dougbgt6
As I described earlier on I changed all the bearings. This was without taking the crank out. They went in quite easily, in retrospect probably because the crank was so worn! But as Clive says those bearings don't look REALLY bad so the crank may be OK.
