  1. Hi , Vittesse suddenly became lumpy with reduced power especially on hills - I thought it was an air leak in the advance retard pipe as found a split in the right angle bend - Made a temp fix with amalgam tape and whilst improved the lumpyness is still there . Normally I can see fuel in the joining pipe between the 2 carbs - this now appears to empty so need to clean the carbs to remove the crud - Is there an online guide to assist as this is new to me - Currently there is no inline filter ( apart from the gauze in the pump) any recommendations as to type & where to locate would be appreciated Best regards Paul

  3. Hi Steve - where did you buy the new matrix ? Paul

  5. Quick question - Is the Herald Heater Matrix the same as the Vitesse Mk2 Heater Matrix Thanks in advance Paul
  6. Forgot to say the first set of Vertical links from Canleys had to be returned as the 4 bolts wouldnt line up so if you are replacing check this first before assembly - Canleys were fine & did a swop out straight away - Paul
  7. Many Many thanks to all for advice so far - Vertical Links done , new trunnions, new brake calipers, new radiator , hoses ( just waiting on Canleys for the stainless pipe under the manifold ) and WBL 281 H - 1969 Vitesse Saloon passed it MOT last week - with no advisories . Still plenty of jobs to be done to add the reliability back so there will be plenty more questions Regards Paul
  8. Thanks Pete & Colin. I think there's one ( Heater control ) that has been superglued , the others have a ball bearing - Guess which one I need to access as the cable has come adrift
  9. Hi, looking to remove the heater control T switch , cannot find how to do it. I can depress the ball bearing but the switch won't pull of . Any help appreciated

  11. I did purchase new felt seals but quality was poor and couldn't get them to fit so reused old ones . Thanks for feedback - appreciated
  12. Just fitted new vertical links , trunnions and reassembling the wheel bearings . A previous post on here ( can't find it ) said nip up the castellated nut then go back one or 2 sections and add split pin . The bit I can't find is should there be play once the wheel is added back . I've got a small amount of play , not sure if I need to tighten the castellated nut one more section . Thanks in advance .
  13. Hi Pete - what anti freeze is best to use and at what % - Best regards
  14. Hi Richard , thanks for advice - appreciated . Re instant gasket - is it both sides of the gasket or just thermostat housing side Best regards
  15. s/h on ebay was more expensive than new and quality was dubious - where else can you source s/h ?
  16. Routine checks on my recently acquired Vitesse Mk2 revealed a very worn thermostat housing - Ive ordered a replacement from Canleys - Is this wear normal ? Could it be rebuilt using an alloy filler

Very interested in converting to electric pump - is there any literature available for this conversion - thanks in advance
  19. Hi Pete - thanks found 138051 and note I can use sealer - Looking at Canleys description for 138501 " SEAL - MOUNT PLATE TO VERTICAL LINK " I currently have the seal on the wrong side ? Can you confirm - Best regards
  20. Hi Im assembling the new vertical link on my Vitesse Mk 2 - and not sure which side of the Caliper Mounting Bracket the rubber insert fits - The first pic Ive attached shows the rubber insert on the bearing side though Haynes shows it fitting on the other side - There is a groove for it to fit though the seal would be proud if fitted as Haynes suggests - Canleys doesnt show any rubber seal inserts at all - This seal is not to be confused with the Felt Oil Seal . The rubber seal could do with replacing - can they still be purchased Thanks in advance
  21. another vote for Manvers, they have just rebuilt the differential plus overdrive gearbox on my vitesse mk2
