  1. Good spot. There’s a seal listed for them, uses a spring too as you said. Seal not available from CC but Moss do it as it’s also a TR4, 5 & 6 part. That’s the doors sorted but back to the gear-lever, again CC list a rubber washer, pt # 611177, as not available. It’s fitted across the small chassis range and for Herald it is depicted/implied as on the lever before the rubber gaiter.
  2. I wondered if it was to keep the vinyl-cloth gaiter pressed up against the (tapered) nut below the knob. Definitely not inside the rubber gaiter as it’s quite clean and oil free.
  3. Is this foam washer supposed to be on my gear-lever? If so, above or below the overdrive wires?
  4. Blue bottle and Eccles went to France, to a city where everyone cycles everywhere, all of the the time. Constant Velo-City.
  5. I was hoping for more, but diesel have to do.
  6. Folks, just spotted this on the underside of the two wires to the flasher unit. They have been rubbing in the earth lead, purple is almost through, green/yellow is through to the conductor! Close. I dare say it’s a result of having the flasher in the wrong place. I will purchase the correct bracket tonight and rivet to the bulkhead.
  7. Dave, not on tags, I only ever had tag remnants acting as washers. These are hand/manually stamped somewhere on the air filter flange. I think they’re in a small, rectangular recess so as not to affect the seal.
  8. The electricians at work just stare at me blankly when I talk about non-insulated terminals. When I move onto non-insulated flag terminals and show them one they shout at me and run away!
  9. Call off the search, I’ve found some holes, imperial too, how fortunate. They were in an old Stork SB tub, on the floor, next to a pallet of sky-hooks. Oh the irony. I also think that a previous has swapped the rear carb. Many moons ago, I recorded the ID numbers of the carbs: front - B796 and rear - A799. Does this shed any light?
  10. See in the picture, a small hole above the overdrive relay. Is that where the flasher unit holder should be riveted?
  11. I agree, I’m thinking that the rear has been replaced by a previous. As I like to record everything and there are hundreds of notes on my iPhone, I noted down this many moons ago, ID numbers: front - B796 & rear - A799. Does this shed any light?
  12. Paul, it’s the rear carb without the thru hole rendering the link to the front pointless. The car works as is, just quite rough on cold start. Maybe the tube is just to prevent an air leak into the front carb.
  13. 100% not-thru blind hole. I stopped trying to blow through just before I fainted.
  14. That’s it David. Not sure how I missed that, I’m on AS website a lot.
