  1. Good spot Tony. I’ll check it against one tomorrow.
  2. My ‘72 GT6 has got this plastic mount, which is secured with a set screw. There’s no evidence that it’s ever been different but I can’t find it listed anywhere. Does anybody else’s car use this too?
  3. Both carbs are temp compensated CDS. The link is pointless, there is no hole into the rear carb. It does start when cold, but of a pig for a few seconds but then seems fine.
  4. £45 and that’s not the one for 3/8” terminals. I couldn’t find one for them. Needless to say (bit Alan Partridge), I’m not buying one.
  5. My 72 GT6 has cold start enrichment on the front carb only. There is a link tube between the carb’s, but the port isn’t drilled-thru on the rear carb so it doesn’t do anything. Anyone else got this setup?
  6. Joking apart, it would be interesting to see if the bracket fitted other cars with a 6-3-1 manifold and the sport system.
  7. Thank you Don. A couple of 3D prints and a few laser-cut prototypes and, hey presto, one bracket. I’ve got access to 3D cad software and a pool of suppliers so it’s all pretty easy. Do you want a bracket?
  8. Plan is to crimp and solder. Crimping those 3/8” terminals is easier said than done though. If all else fails I’ll wrap some tape around them and pop on a couple of cable-ties. Rebuild the plug and retain the cap with some chewing gum. Wrigleys of course, not some cheap stuff.
  9. School boy error o’clock. I dismantled the alternator connector block without getting a shot of it. No excuse nowadays. The workshop manual is the same as in the attached picture of the rear of my alternator, read left to right: large brown/large flag terminal, then small brown to large flag terminal and finally brown/white to small flag terminal. Do you concur? Thank you.
  10. The brackets have a feature which stops the bolt from turning when installed (and when tightening, along with a wrench of course.) The rear brackets look symmetrical so this feature can be placed either way but, you can’t do that with the asymmetrical front bracket. I want to insert the bolts towards the turret and have the nuts on the inside (of the wishbone).
  11. I guess that this is just an engineer-thing but, I like to (re) build my GT6 with maintenance in mind so, I want the front/lower wishbone bolts to be easily removed and not hit the front turrets on removal. I would need handed brackets for this but only one part number is shown for these brackets. Does anybody known different?
  12. Top marks to you David. It is indeed a tacho cable. I’ll keep it anyway as I’ve already fitted the grommet for the bulkhead.
  13. Anyone else had issues with a new speedo cable for GT6 mk3 with overdrive? Please see attached picture, the black one is the new one. The end fittings are wrong: too small at the od 90 degree drive and too big at the rear of the speedo.
  14. I’ve not considered that before. Has anyone seen significant wear in the bush region on standard or Polybush installations?
  15. Thank you Ian. I shall get an 11/16” bar. According to CC website, the 11/16” bar is fitted to all of these, as per the image. Is this correct?
  16. Hi Clive, I’ve not driven it yet. I got this arb a while ago as it was cheap, I couldn’t find a small one and, I wanted to get the car built. I knew about the understeer issue but not that the parts wouldn’t fit.
  17. I was about to fit a 7/8” arb to my rotoflex mk3 as I assumed that all of the small chassis arb’s are interchangeable, in terms of fitting. I know that this combination is frowned upon but I wanted to try it anyway. As of about three hours ago I discovered that the u-bolts are bigger and don’t fit so now, with the extra work considered, am I wasting my time? If so, I have a 7/8” setup to sell/swap for an 11/16” setup.
  18. This is true Dave, but, they go into a 1/4” hole, it’s a 5/16” hole for the metal clips at the rear.
  19. Ok. So I’ve bought 15 of these from Bresco but I only want two. Does anyone else need some? Let me know.
  20. Indeed, the clips are right on size. I got my tubes in last night. Just got to get the rear end clipped with this Ford clip and I’m done.
