Very true, I may be holding the steering wheel but the wife drives! Lights are green, watch that idiot, did you see that whatever by the road (no dear I'm watching the idiots on the road)........
  2. When I inquired 1-2 years ago they didn't have any and weren't making a batch as it used an archaic software system. It seems they have a new revised product? Iain
  3. It looks interesting and cheaper the Pertronix 1 or 2 which aren't programmable. Once synced to your engine it seems pretty easy to use but I can't see what advance/rpm increments are available. Iain

Pete, Google says:-Weighing” is bringing the anchor in, not dropping it. It's a holdover of a Dutch or Old English usage of the word meaning 'to raise up. ' A lot of nautical English words are adaptations of Dutch. The command to drop the anchor is “let go. Iain

I started something there😂. I believe, "Anchors Away" is the primary March of the US Naval Service? I think you're correct. Dick where are you?

After two pages I think I've finally burned port and starboard into my brain. We are on the port side in April. I'll try nautical directions on my wife, I'm sure she'll have her own version of 'anchor away'. Iain

Last week helped a neighbour who's battery was dead and couldn't open the bonnet as it was a electrically operated. Googled where to hook up my Vitesse battery to release the bonnet only to find the connection on the other side. I had watched an American lhd video! Iain

Useless fact, dimensionally the centre of the car is (or was in my day) the centre in X, Y, Z of the front cross member. Getting back to the high seas the wife and I love ocean cruises but choosing port or starboard side cabin is always a toss up. Invariably we get it wrong so when docked instead of a nice bay or town view the mornings start thus. First thought I knew that final drink last night wasn't a good idea then open the curtains in Full Monty mode and my wife says good view? Normally I reply oh yes dockside silos again the Captain has it in for us! 🚢

The offside is the drivers side or rhs of our rhd cars. The nearside is the side nearest the kerb. Iain
  16. In Muscat Oman around 20 years ago when the British Forces arrived to sell the Omani some wizz bangs and airplanes. At the hotel nightclub talking to a very drunk marine and his slightly less drunk friends who's conversation consisted of I hate the Navy when the MPs stroll in. The pissed marines man mountain friends linked arms with him and held him up and said keep talking to us. The MPs gave us a knowing look and walked on. It gave me a new meaning the comrades in arms! The RN officers staying in our hotel were very polite but could they drink. A great few alcoholic days🍻 Iain

I think the AAR needles are slightly thinner hence will give a richer mixture than ABT. Perhaps the previous owner used the AARs to compensate for the pancakes and your tubular manifold will also require a richer mixture. Playing around with needles, damper oils and damper spring rates has aged and frustrated me over the last 2 years! Iain
  19. I keep getting message at the top of the page when on the forum saying with white letters on orange background "Nuala Dowie Facebook account has been hacked". I rarely use Facebook and have no idea who he/she is. Has anyone else experienced this message? It only appears when I first open the forum page. Iain
  20. I'll bow to the Old Salts Dick and Pete's greater knowledge of dock area life! Iain
  21. Malta has the highest number of classic/historical cars per capita in the world. For that reason alone it get a big thumbs up! Iain
  22. Strait Street red light district. I had to Google it honest......😇 Iain
  23. We bumped into Malta on a cruise and decided to go back for a shore holiday. They drive on the correct side of the road! Huge amount of history and the harbour and surrounding area straight out of the Knights Templar. Iain
  24. Vitesse, Spitfires and TR6 on Malta Jewel of the Med tonight at 8pm. You can watch on catch up. They were racing in an annual rally race. Aside from the racing I like Malta as a destination. Lovely people and lots to see. Iain
  25. I didn't know that was the reason for the waxstat. I only had my Spitfire 1500 with SUs for 6 months and never played with it.
