  1. Johny, I don't know as the PO had the car refurbished. It says County on the side. The fluid is only 9 months old and looks murky, I'll suck some out and take a closer look. Iain
  2. I've never driven another Triumph 6 pot so can't gauge the feel of the clutch pedal and clutch engagement but I have no real 'bite' in the clutch pedal feel. It's been the same in the 3 years since I bought the car. I have changed the slave cylinder, clutch plate and cover but it still has a dead feel. Very occasionally the clutch will engage then bite which is very odd, as though the hydraulics are momentarily stopping full engagement but it's not screaming or making a noise. The only thing I haven't replaced is the master cylinder (about 10-12 years old), could this be the weak link? Suggestions please and if I want to replace where to go! Price isn't an issue I just want a good quality part that fits and does to job. The new slave cylinder also looks pretty rough, again who makes quality replacements? Iain
  3. Dick, I see you've been demoted from Commodore to rocketeer. At school I had plans to be a RN Navigation Officer but the car business beckoned. It worked out fine for me but I still wonder what if? Iain
  4. I've been blackballed, I couldn't post! Had to log out and try again. Anyway Marmite on mine please!
  5. I've been to a few, I remember a lot of toasts! Iain
  6. You're a Grand Master! Did you have to wear a apron?? Had a weird programming jargon message when logging in on MacBook(the Devils machine). I'm sure Kevin is 'on it' patience is a virtue!
  7. Me too, anything beyond ctrl/alt/delete is a mystery! I'm fine with spanners and hammers.... Iain
  8. On searching opieoil website who sell both, the only difference I can see is the electrode gap. W78 is 0.9mm and W78X are 1.0mm. If you want 0.9 (36 thou) gap and the W78 are out of stock go for F78 and make sure you have a 14mm plug socket! Iain
  9. Ok so the F78 looks exactly the same spec as a W78 apart from the hex size. A W78 is 20.8mm and a F78 is 16mm. Both are M14 x 1.25 thread, 19mm reach and the same heat range (78). Looks to me a good replacement for W78? Iain They seem available from Greensparkplug.
  10. https://images.app.goo.gl/QefSH6Htzwiqgt598 A quick chart explaining the numbers.....I'm still confused!
  11. True there are a few posts on the forum just search spark plugs. Everyone one has an opinion what works for them! Iain
  12. Very true, I hope its only a shortage and Bosch haven't discontinued them. Do you have an idea as to what the problem was?
  13. https://www.gsparkplug.com/1x-bosch-spark-plug-w78.html?___SID=U How are you getting on with finding what's wrong? Iain
  14. 75w90 seems OK and as you say will retain viscosity better than 3 in 1. It did seem thinner than 20W50 engine oil. Iain
  15. OK then try all the above one step at a time so you can identify what (hopefully) works! We've all been there, annoying but satisfying when you find the fault! Best of luck.
  16. Is this something new that's just developed? If so what was the last thing you changed prior to it running ok?
  17. If you want a second pair of hands let me know, I'm only one Jubbly stop away! Iain
  18. Probably not but take the pancakes off and take it for a spin. It'll run a bit lean but should see if they are the problem. Iain
  19. It does seem as though it's the plugs. I found Bosch W78 bought from Greensparkplug work much better than NGK. Iain
  20. We've all had many! Glad to know you've sorted it out. Iain
  21. 'No naked flames' does that mean it's OK fully clothed?
  22. Bob, if you didn't fit the spacer it looks like you'll have to remove and refit. My spacer was a snug fit and I had to very slightly ease it to make everything fit flush. Iain
  23. Hi Bob, The standard spacer ring is fitted with my hi torque (not the clubs) starter. The ring also correctly locates the starter. As far as I know this must be fitted with all starters. Iain
