Well.. i need to get the windscreen out one weekend to clean the frame and put it in primer. Once the weather is better, hardtop off and rear deck stripping.. Will do the rear arches in the next few weeks. Paint.. really dont know when and where. My local bodyshop has stopped (guy had a blood prop and then retired early.. ) My only chance is then at work (school), there we have paint booth etc. There I did all the welding on Fox as there we have all the pro stuff. So we will see ! And she will be again resprayed in her famous color... blue/grey. Some people actually say its the color of grey primer.. Well now they cant nag.. its really in primer now

Today I did some more work and... Drive her to home ! She was a bit hard to start, but did it good. Only halfway my journey the idle became 1500/1600 rpm, so adjusted it now and seems to be good. Still need to get most of the interior back in now (waiting for inside paint to dry).

Last day of the year... yes more work on Fox ! Painted every bare metal that was on the car. Put sills in primer, then seam sealed everything, then another coat or primer. Waxed the insides and painted the inside of the car in her famous blue/grey. Tomorrow its time to fit electrics, some carpet, drivers seat and doors. Then she can return home, so I can put the rest of the interior back. Also need to have a look at the rear suspension (sometimes a knock) And front pads are very worn I now had seen.

More was done today.. Inner parts cleaned up (front repaired panel was sabdblasted), painted in the zink primer and then time for outer panels ! So welded those in ! On both sides the lower wing repair panel doesnt follow the doorgap/line very well... maybe will look into that now to.

Mine is really used everyday to do anything. And even in snow etc. Also mostly living outside ! I've done since sept 2013 until now around 124.000miles not bad for a Spitfire ! total milage is 195.000miles/315.000kms on the car now. Engine is still original, exept new head since july (had the original still on it !), new pistons (only needed to clean the bores as all was in spec!),new timing chain 2 years ago etc. But engine has never been rebuild fully at one go. Hopefully we can count up the miles again!

Needs to be back on the road next week and in daily use again !

Day 2.. Strenghtner cut out and new panel in. Fitted a new body mount bracket at the front as the old one was repaired and rotten again.. Front floor wasnt really connected up good to the rest of the car... I better did buy a full new lower A-post. But found the price a bit to high.. until I looked at a german supplier. Cheap there, but they where closed to after new year.. So time to fix my existing one.

Now onto the other side... More bodging found etc etc... Day 1

The sill was welded in.. all looking good !

Testfit today and welded in 1 new outer panel. Looking good !

More ... Today rear inner wing repair welded in + floor repair Spot welded the strenghtner in place And repaired the lower A-post Now its realy got the rear wing outer repair and other small bits And then its door back on + the sill !

Time to brace the doir gap and start to cut... scary ! Again bodges... And panels not spot/ plug welded, only edges ! Strenghtner not connected up ...

So guys (and girls) ... ive been very busy on Fox the last 2,5 days ! It was time for her surgery... new sills ! Before the start..

Sadly not... But did recieve a package from china after 3 months wait.. Strangly i bought 2 items of the same guy, one arrived 2 weeks later. The rest 3 months .. Lets hope...

More things done.. Fitted another bonnet, ex-usa and rust free ! One wing was to bad to fix, so fitted an NOS (dated 1983) wing on the left side. Still got some fitment problems, but was to fed up yesterday.

Belgian supplier sells Lamishield to..

On closer inspection of the pics on a decent computer I could see that pieces of the teeth of the input/4th gear where missing. Mainshaft tip looked strange to..

Will mail the belgian parts supplier for info.. They are asking £145 for a new clear screen for MKIV/1500/GT6 mk3.

Really dont know how to do that 😕

Hi. I know its a bit of a hard one.. Does anyone got a mainshaft and input /4th gear (scroll/ oil seal) shaft for sale for a Single rail with J-type OD? Bearing surface needs to be good. Regards, Wim

Hi, My original laminated windscreen has a lot of stone chips and now in one corner I had moisture. Now my car (Fox) is getting a lot of bodywork and so screen will need to come out eventually. Now some years ago I heard it a few times that the new screen are not curved enough and dont fit right.. Does anyone know what brand is the bad ones and what brand to get? Thanks !
